OUR HISTORY

Barrett’s Concrete is a family owned business formed by Joseph Barrett in 1956. The company has grown from a single yard based in Eglish, Co. Tyrone producing only blocks, to operating out of three manufacturing facilities with an extensive product range.

With their continued growth, Barrett’s Concrete now have expertise in ready-mix concrete products, precast concrete products, quarry materials, glass and construction waste recycling as well as foundation piling. This enables them to offer a diverse range of products and solutions to the agricultural, domestic and construction industries.

Joseph Barrett and Son Established

Joseph Barrett and Sons established by Joseph Barrett and begins producing concrete blocks.

1970

FIRST BATCHING PLANT INSTALLED

Barrett’s Concrete install their first batching plant for the supply of ready-mix concrete products.

1980

BARRETT’S CONCRETE

2002

PRECAST CONCRETE

Barrett’s Concrete break into the precast concrete market, manufacturing agricultural and domestic building products.

2003

ACQUISITION & EXPANSION

Acquisition of Neil Mullin and Sons quarry and Mullin Concrete, expanding their ready-mix and block production to three depots and enlarging their product list to include washed sand and gravel.

2007

ACQUISITION OF DC PILING

Acquisition of DC Piling, a piling and ground beam contractor.

2012

T AND J RECYCLING

Barrett’s Concrete expand into the recycling industry. T and J Recycling process waste products and create recycled aggregates.

2014

ALTAMUSKIN QUARRY

Barrett’s Concrete first rock blast in their Altamuskin quarry, producing crushed rock for the construction industry.
